Mountaineering, rock climbing, hiking, canyoning and mountain biking, choose whatever takes your fancy.
In winter, nothing could be more inviting that the virgin slopes of the Roof of Europe, the pastel shades of seracs and glaciers. Get the total Mont Blanc experience with a local mountain guide: freeride, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing, ice waterfall climbing and winter mountaineering, the very best of everything.
If rock climbing is your thing, meet your guide at the indoor climbing wall in the Courmayeur Forum Sports Center.
There are also climbing courses and introductory high-mountain courses for children: a chance to walk out on a glacier in complete safety, tackle a climbing route and above all hone those mountain orientation techniques.
The history of Courmayeur is closely intertwined with the history of the Mountain Guides Association, one of the most highly respected, the oldest in Italy and the second in the world.
There are now 42 guides who regularly carry out their profession. They will be happy to take you walking, mountaineering or climbing in the most beautiful places in the Courmayeur region.
The characteristic Casa delle Guide in piazza Abbé Henry houses the Duca degli Abruzzi Alpine Museum, a treasure house of historical mementoes and relics of epic expeditions in Courmayeur. The most astonishing exhibit is the Fréboudze bivouac hut, reassembled inside the museum.
