Mission: research, accident prevention and safety in the mountains

Get the total mountain experience with the Safe Mountain Foundation. Learn how to explore and respect the Mont Blanc region.

The Safe Mountain Foundation, based in Villa Cameron, Courmayeur, is an operational centre for research and the application of technological innovation at high altitude. Its primary role is to bring the mountains to a wider public and promote a host of associated activities: accident prevention, mountain safety, potential natural risks, climate change, sustainable development and training courses.

Take the advice of the Safe Mountain Foundation and get the very best out of your holiday in the mountains.

Espace Mont-Blanc is a cross-border cooperation for environmental education and in the summer organises informal workshops in the Casermetta at the Col de la Seigne (2365 m. Val Vény, Courmayeur). These meetings cover topics such as natural risks, glaciology, flora and fauna, safety in the mountains, physiological adaptation to high altitude and renewable energy.
