Val Veny – Winter Road Closure Starting October 13, 2025

Please be advised that, as every year, due to avalanche risk and the fact that the Val Veny municipal road is not accessible during winter, the Mayor’s Ordinance No. 5936 dated October 8, 2025, has been published in the municipal register. The ordinance orders the following measures, effective from October 13, 2025, and until the revocation of this ordinance:

• From Ponte delle Capre to the Plan Ponquet junction, both vehicular and pedestrian traffic are prohibited.
• From Plan Ponquet to the end of the road (Plan Lognan), vehicular and pedestrian traffic is permitted only as long as weather conditions allow, at the full risk of the user, and without road maintenance by the Municipality. Pedestrian access in this section is considered a hiking activity.
• Waste collection vehicles (RSU) are allowed to use the aforementioned road until 12:00 PM on October 13, 2025.
• In order to reduce avalanche damage to infrastructure, guardrails, New Jersey barriers, and rockfall protection nets must be removed in due time.
• The road is therefore also exposed to additional risks, beyond avalanche danger.
• It is considered necessary to guarantee access to the SEVA Srl hydroelectric plant for operational continuity purposes.
