Hiking and via ferrata on Mont Chétif

Accompanied by a mountain guide, we’ll take the Val Veny cable car up to Pré de Pascal (bar/toilets). From the ‘Pré’, we’ll walk along an easy path for about ten minutes until we reach the section equipped with rungs and steel cables (journey time: 30 minutes). At the end of this via ferrata section, we’ll continue along the path for a further 15 minutes until we reach another equipped section leading downhill (15 minutes). We’ll carry on along a path that is occasionally somewhat exposed until we rejoin the standard route, reaching the summit of Mont Chétif and the statue of the Virgin Mary.
Unique and unrivalled, the view over the entire Mont Blanc massif allows you to take in the whole range at a single glance, from the Col de la Seigne on the French border to the Col Ferret on the Swiss border. The return journey follows the classic route of the standard path down to Pré de Pascal.

Age group: adults and families with children aged 10 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Meeting point: 9.30 am at the Val Veny cable car station
Return: 4.00 pm
Level: experienced hikers (EE)
Equipment: hiking boots and suitable clothing (windproof jacket, hat and sunglasses).
Hiking poles are recommended, preferably telescopic ones.
Participants are responsible for providing their own packed lunch.
Helmets and harnesses will be provided free of charge by our organisation.

In the event of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, the event will be refunded or postponed to Sunday.
